Dr. William H. Carmalt is shown in his carriage pulled by his horse Dobbin on July 30, 1926. The Farnam Amphitheatre is on the left and the Brady Building is in the background on the right. Dr. Carmalt was a distinguished surgeon, who had, at that time, served as a member of the medical staff for 49 years, was President of the Hospital in the last year of World War I and the two years following.
