Comments

1444 patients treated in the past year. Daily average number of patients 127 1/7. Cost per patient per week is $10.81. The ambulance responded to 463 calls during the year. The new Maternity Ward opened in January and treated 90 patients. There was an increase of patients in the spring due to a typhoid epidemic. Wards were prepared to receive additional patients and extra staff was temporarily hired during April and May. A Clinical Annex was opened to teach Medical Clinics, classes, and lectures. It’s mentioned in the Board of Lady Visitors report that the children in the hospital were dressed poorly and that the Board would provide a garment for the children to wear during their hospital stay. Report for the Connecticut Training School for Nurses included. The average number of students which includes the head nurse and assistant was 47 2/3.
