There were 35,551 patients discharged during the fiscal year. C. Thomas Smith resigned and Joseph A Zaccagnino was voted as the president and CEO of Yale New Haven Health Services Incorporated. The construction of the Children’s Hospital remains in the appointed budget and time frame. The other phase of the facilities renewal projects has begun in earnest. In order to contain costs and reduce health care prices, the Hospital underwent a significant budget reduction and has been successfully in doing so.
