Abstract
In order to survey the frequency and patterns of occurrence of normal and abnormal muscular and tendinous variations of the leg and foot of man, a series of dissect ions were initiated. The specimens used In these dissections were procured from the Anatomy Department of the Yale Universlty School of Medicine (23 cadavers), from the Pathology Department of the Yale-New Haven Hospital (8 cadavers and 7 amputation specimens), from the Pathology Department of the Waterbury Hospital, Waterbury, Connecticut (10 amputation specimens), from the Pathology Department at the Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston (1 cadaver and 1 amputation specimen) and from the Pathology Department at the Peter Bent Brigham Hospital in Boston (1 amputation spec imen). In all, the series comprised 81 legs, from 31 cadavers and 19 amputation specimens.
