Abstract

The mean growth rate of the dominant reef-building coral Pocillopora damicornis was significantly different in upwelling (Gulf of Panama) and nonupwelling (Gulf of Chiriquí) environments on the Pacific coast of Panama. Mean annual growth was 3.1 cm/yr at Saboga Island, Gulf of Panama and 3.9 cm/yr at the Secas study site, Gulf of Chiriquí....
