A short-fetch water-wind tunnel has been used to measure the evaporation rate for wind velocities between 200 and 800 cm/sec and for three water-air temperature differences. Sverdrup's assumption of a molecular diffusion sublayer at the naviface bas been used to compare laboratory evaporation measurements with existing measurements at sea....
