Abstract
Light-mediated stereochemical editing has become increasingly explored as a method for the stereoselective synthesis of compounds. This dissertation describes the work towards the stereoselective epimerization of amines. The first chapter describes the highly diastereoselective epimerization of endocyclic amines, which are commonly found in pharmaceuticals. The second chapter demonstrates the expansion of this light-mediated epimerization method to include exocyclic amines. Finally, chapter three details current advances towards the diastereoselective epimerization of acyclic amines.
