Description

This spiritual was included in the 1925 edition of "Saint Helena Island Spirituals" by Ballanta-Taylor, on page 11, item 8. It was transcribed based on the oral tradition of St. Helena Island in present day Beaufort County, South Carolina. The transcription is credited to Ballanta-Taylor.
