Photo shows, left to right, Pasquale Ruggiero, who made it; Dr. Vernon Lippard, dean of the medical school; Dr. William W.L. Glenn, associate professor of surgery; Isidore Himmel, vice president and treasurer of Himmel Brothers, the firm which constructed and donated the machine; Dr. Thomas Gentsch, surgical intern at New Haven Hospital; and Fred Himmel, president and treasurer of Himmel Brothers."
