The title of this report is In the hands of others. There were 51,505 patients discharged during the fiscal year. During the fiscal year the new hires increased dramatically cutting the need for staff overtime. The medical staffing rose to 3,575. The hospital was placed on the US News & World Report elite “Honor Roll” and was also placed on the top 15 hospitals list. The Hospital continues the service excellence initiative and “I am Yale – New Haven”.
