An important issue was: patients, who were unable to afford room and board, be denied hospital care? In response, a small group has supported the effort to increase the Hospital’s resources for free care. The Clinic Building has been completed and has allowed more rooms to be available to use as housing for patients. The surgical ward was completed, adding 130 beds for: surgical, medical and non-infectious disease pediatric patients. The Hospital’s reputation as a teaching hospital has continued to become well known among, the potential interns and residents. The total amount of patients admitted was 12,255.
