Comments
There were 35,998 patients discharged during the fiscal year, and approximately 4,000 employees, as well as 1,500 medical staff. The Board of Trustees approved a membership to the Voluntary Hospitals of America (VHA), the benefits to this affiliation are significant as well as opportunities to providers in the New Haven area. The trustees also decided the fiscal year would be more focused on the organization structure, and concluded that the current structure would not be able to serve adequately in light of the environmental changes, in order to fulfill non-hospital health service activities, facilitate health providers relationships, and create opportunities for capital formation would require the hospital to become Yale New Haven Health Services Corporation.
