Comments

There was such a dramatic increase of patients, extra furniture needed to be brought in to accommodate patients. The average cost for patients per week was $6.00. The average cost for marine soldiers for a week was $7.00. The Connecticut School of Nurses dorm was completed. Once the nurses moved to the new accommodations, the hospital took over the empty rooms, and rearranged them for patients usage. The west ward needed renovations including steam-heat and bathrooms. During the past year an ambulance was purchased by the town for the Almhouse. Six soldiers were transferred from the hospital to Fitch’s home Norton.
