    Description

Caption in 1962 annual report: Few procedures require the extensive and complex equipment used in diagnosis and treatment of heart defects. Cardiac catheterization equipment, used to diagnose the specific location and extent of defects in the human heart, is one of several new pieces of radiological equipment located in the hospital's cardiovascular diagnostic suite. Capable of producing faster, more informative X-rays with considerably less radiation exposure, the diagnostic unit also utilizes television monitors for visual observation of diagnostic procedures. The equipment is so effective it literally permits the physician to look "directly into the heart".
