Abstract

Type material for 708 nominal species of trilobites are in the Invertebrate Paleontology Collections of Yale University's Peabody Museum of Natural History. Primary types for 347 nominal species include 288 holotypes, 15 lectotypes, one neotype and 156 syntypes (representing 44 nominal species). Secondary types for 164 nominal species include 679 paratypes and 19 paralectotypes. Tertiary types for 393 nominal species include 1253 hypotypes. Most types are from Idaho, New York, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, Vermont and Utah and have been described by C.E. Beecher, K.S.W. Campbell, D.M. Delo, B.F. Howell, P.E. Raymond, R.J. Ross, A.B. Shaw, J.L. Wilson and H.B. Whittington.
