Abstract
A rotating stratified fluid is bounded above by a horizontal plane and below by bottom topography in the form of a long ridge on a horizontal plane. Far upstream of the topog - raphy, the flow in the main body of the fluid is uniform and barotropic and is directed at right angles to the depth contours.
