Dr. Barbara Kinder, M.D. ’71, HS ’77, Professor Emeritus of Surgery (Oncology). Kinder and fellow resident Mary Alice Helikson, M.D., HS ’77, who is now a pediatric surgeon in Oregon, were the first two women to complete general surgery training at Yale.
